Spending more than one hand on Free Poker is a huge waste of time. The person who sits around all day to finish second gets nothing, and nobody gets RP.

Agree 100%. I believe the people who sit and play a 30 minute or longer game of free poker, where you can only win $5k and no RP, are simply those folks who cannot lose a game....

The task of free poker is annoying. I do go all in the 1st hand. So that others waiting, won't have to wait too too long.
Because i have been this game daily for 3 and 1/2 years, i have adapted a few techniques that may help you over come this annoying task.
1) How to get a seat. Head down, chat bar shrunken, tasks list minimized. 2 seconds after the winner puts their arms in joy, hit the A button.
2) Have many friends that also play poker, if you miss your chance. Fast travel to your friends in the classic poker room. Maybe one will be in a less busy room.
3) Log in, at 1 min past the time the new day starts. Fast travel to the poker room asap
I do agree, that when this task is required, usually twice a week. Should be extra tables available for that day.
Variety is the spice of life. Equality not equity.
I just consider it good etiquette to simply go all in when Free Poker is a daily task. I usually just push right away with free poker anyway; it's a quick shot at 5k and it costs nothing. I'll refrain if I know there are other players who really want this free poker game to be fair, but I'll still rush a bit (call everything, overbet my pairs, pre-flop raise on silly hands, full on donkey moves), or if I'm scraping the bottom and I need to win this free game to get enough to play 5k poker.
